Are you Training or Working out?

ARE YOU TRAINING OR WORKING OUT?

Have you been going to the gym for years, thinking you’re fit?  Many people workout, but they’re not training.  Maybe you’re on the same routine you’ve been doing the past 10 years or you skipped leg day again, because you just felt like benching.  Don’t get me wrong, training needs to be modified day to day on how you feel, but it should be planned with progressions and de-loads to make sure you are getting the most out of your training.  When is the last time you made progress?  Are you consistently seeing changes and improvements?  Or are you stuck?

A good coach will make sure you have a plan of attack and are seeing changes happen.  Sometimes these changes are decreasing pain, improving endurance, reducing body fat, or getting stronger.  Whatever your goals, planning and progress are key.  You also need to make sure you’re giving proper effort and attention to your strength training.  Clients always say, “I didn’t know I’d have to think so much.”  Focus and effort are critical to making changes.  Your technique should be precise, and movements should look like a work of art.
