STEVE RAMSBOTTOM - Owner/Strength and Conditioning Coach

Education

Steve Ramsbottom is a Strength and Conditioning Coach, author, and owner of Performance Institute.  He has a Bachelor of Human Kinetics (BHK) from UBC, is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and is a certified Medical Exercise Specialist (MES). 

Athletic background

Steve was and continues to be a multi-sport athlete.  He was a pitcher in junior level baseball, a provincial level swimmer, a provincial All-star in hockey, has completed an 1hr30 min half-marathon and still plays flag football.  

Clientele/Professional Accomplishments

Steve feels very privileged to have had the opportunity to work with so many clients and share in their successes.  Steve has many career highlights, which include being the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC for 6 years during which time he helped to develop their Residency program.  He worked with NLL’s, Vancouver Ravens Lacrosse Team and had the opportunity in 2002 to train the Slovak National Hockey Team, in Slovakia for their preparation for the Salt Lake City Olympics.

Steve and his team are also particularly proud of their Paralympic successes, being a part of 11 Paralympic medals.  With his passion for Paralympic sport, he developed the book Wheelchair Training to help athletes of all abilities assess, rehabilitate and train their way to a better body.

In 2001, Steve capitalized on an opportunity which opened his career into the world of Hollywood north.  He’s had the pleasure of working with several actors’ including: Jessica Alba, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Connely, David Duchovny, Amanda Peet, Michelle Ryan, Dominick Purcell, and Zack Efron.
